Beth Kaplan

Beth Kaplan is a Managing Member at Axcel Partners, where she advises and invests in emerging, high-growth consumer businesses. Most recently, Kaplan served as President and COO of Rent the Runway, where she still serves on the Board. Kaplan’s past experiences include President and Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer at General Nutrition Corporation; EVP and General Manager of Bath and Body Works; Senior Executive VP of Marketing, Merchandising and Distribution of Rite Aid; and President of Procter and Gamble’s U.S. Cosmetics Division. Kaplan is currently on the Board of Directors of Meredith Corporation, a leading publicly traded media and marketing services company. Kaplan earned both Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Business Administration degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, and currently sits on its Board of Overseers.

Ms. Kaplan’s extensive background in senior executive roles across multiple industries, combined with her board service on various public companies, makes her a highly qualified financial expert. As President and Chief Operating Officer at Rent the Runway, Inc., Ms. Kaplan gained critical experience in overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and strategic financial decision-making. Her leadership at General Nutrition Centers (GNC) during its IPO demonstrates her deep understanding of the complexities involved in public offerings, including financial disclosures, regulatory compliance, and investor relations.

Ms. Kaplan’s venture capital experience as the managing member of Axcel Partners, LLC, and venture partner at Revolution Ventures, further underscores her expertise in financial analysis, valuation, and investment strategies. This, coupled with her roles on the audit committees of various public companies, including Rent the Runway, Inc., provides her with comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management. Her ability to oversee complex financial matters and her experience with regulatory and compliance issues, as evidenced by her leadership roles and board service, qualify her as a financial expert.
